The use of biological products is becoming more rampant nowadays. One of the most stringently used biological products is human tissue. Human tissue is used in preventing and treating human diseases through the process of transplantation. Because it involves life, the government has made laws in order for human tissues to be regulated. Human tissue regulation is done by the Food and Drug Administration through the virtue of the provision set in the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act or commonly known as the FD&C Act. In the aim of fulfilling the task given by the law, the Food and Drug Administration made Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (one of the seven main branches of the Food and Drug Administration) as the branch responsible in making sure that the biologics circulating the market is safe, potent and effective. Regulation set by the center is presented to the public through their websites.
